Furnishing Hope: The Aransas County Soft Room Project
A Sanctuary in the Justice System
Court proceedings can be intimidating and re-traumatizing—especially for children and survivors of domestic violence. We are raising funds to create a trauma-informed “Soft Room” inside the Aransas County Courthouse.
This dedicated space will provide a calming, healing environment for children navigating family court, protective orders, or victim interviews, as well as women seeking justice after domestic or sexual assault.

We are not accepting physical donations at this time. To ensure every element of the Soft Room is cohesive and meets professional trauma-informed standards, we are utilizing monetary donations to source specialized materials.
Can I choose which specific item my money goes toward?
While we cannot always earmark individual donations for specific pieces of furniture, we ensure all funds are pooled to meet our highest-priority needs first. This flexibility allows our design team to adapt to shipping availability and ensure the room is completed on schedule.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes! The Children’s Coalition is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. All monetary donations to the Furnishing Hope campaign are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. You will receive a formal acknowledgment letter for your records shortly after your gift is processed.
